Designer Footwear Seeing Red
Ok, so you're like many Americans today and you are more interested in using your online time to search for a job then read up on the world of high fashion. I get it, but if that’s you then you may not have read nor even care about a recent epic battle that has unfolded in the courts of New York. Christian Louboutin [GUYS: Louboutin creates high fashion, high dollar footwear for women that seem to have more dollars then sense.] has entered the ring VS. Yves Saint Laurent [GUYS: YSL is a posh designer of mostly fine women’s apparel, handbags, footwear, wallets, jewelry and accessories, beauty products and top notch fragrances. To sum it up, don’t look for this gear at Wal-Mart.] So these two fashion giants are haggling over the red color both designers have placed on the bottom of their shoes. Apparently both companies have produced many shoes over the years with the scarlet under soles. [GUYS: This is the equivalent of Ford suing General Motors for the right to exclusively put black tiers on there vehicles.] US District Judge Victor Marrero ruled that in the fashion world even a big name like Louboutin was not big enough to stop other companies from using the color to adorn the bottoms of any shoe they may choose to produce. On the bright side, both designer’s shoes retail in the multiple hundreds of dollars into the thousands and that removes the burden of picking sides for most of us.
